Malta

Custom software for Malta businesses.

CRMs, portals, booking, invoicing and AI for small and medium businesses across Malta and Gozo, built locally by Luke Fenech. And what the Digitalise Your SME grant may co-fund.

Why local

A builder on the same island.

Same island, same hours

Meet in person when it helps, and get a reply in the same working day without time-zone gaps.

Built for how Malta works

WhatsApp-first customers, Malta VAT, English, Maltese and Italian, and local payment providers like VivaWallet next to Stripe.

One person, start to finish

The person who scopes your system is the person who builds it and answers your messages afterwards.

Malta businesses already run on it

A storage and logistics company, a music academy, a music community and a local services marketplace, all in daily use.

Digitalise Your SME

Part of the cost, co-funded.

The government scheme for small businesses going digital. Last checked against the official guidance on 27 October 2026. Always confirm the current call before you rely on it.

  • It is run by the Measures and Support Division, and calls are published on fondi.eu.
  • It can part-finance up to 50% of eligible costs for investments in Malta and 60% in Gozo, under the EU de minimis rules.
  • The official guidance sets the grant between €10,000 and €128,400, including a 7% flat rate for indirect costs. Advisers report a higher minimum for the current call, so very small projects may not qualify.
  • Commercial and custom software are eligible costs. Fees for design, marketing and other consultancy are not, so a marketing website on its own is unlikely to count.
  • You apply with an investment proposal or three quotations for each item, from external, unrelated suppliers. Spending only counts once it is approved in your grant agreement, so the build starts after approval.
  • The current call opened in July 2026 and, according to adviser summaries, runs to 31 December 2026 with periodic cut-offs, plus a separate allowance for AI projects.

How it fits with a build

Use the quote builder and say you’re interested in the grant. You get a scoped brief and a fixed quote with its technical specification, phased so the first phase is a clear, self-contained project. Your business applies, and the build starts once the grant is approved. Nothing here is a promise of funding: approval is decided by the scheme, not by me.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do you meet clients in person?

Yes, in Malta, when it helps: a first walk-through of how the business runs, a launch day with the team, or a working session. Most of the build happens remotely with previews you can open any time.

Can the system handle Malta VAT and local payments?

Yes. Malta VAT rates and VAT-exempt clients are handled in quoting and invoicing, and payments can run through Stripe or VivaWallet.

Can it be in Maltese or Italian?

Yes. Systems and websites can run in several languages, kept in step automatically. ilmaaPure’s site runs in English and Italian with 408 automated checks.

Do you help with the Digitalise Your SME application?

The quote builder asks whether you want to apply. My fixed quote comes with the technical specification an application asks for, so it can be one of the three quotations you submit. The application itself is made by your business, and the rules are set by the Measures and Support Division, so confirm the details with them before you apply.

Do you work with businesses outside Malta?

Yes. Clients abroad work with me remotely, including a contractor that moved from Malta to Melbourne, whose site was relaunched for Australia in about two days.
